Setting Up Revenue Tracking

Track all your income streams in one place

6 min read

Getting Started

The Revenue Tracker helps you monitor all income streams in one centralized location. This gives you a complete financial picture of your music career and helps you identify which revenue sources are most profitable.

Access the Revenue Tracker from your dashboard. The setup process is simple and guided, taking just a few minutes to configure.

Connecting Revenue Sources

Streaming Platforms

Connect your distribution service (DistroKid, CD Baby, TuneCore, etc.) or individual streaming platforms to automatically track royalties. The system will categorize earnings by platform and show trends over time.

Merchandise & Physical Sales

Link your online store (Shopify, Bandcamp, etc.) or manually enter physical sales. Track which products sell best and identify seasonal trends in merchandise revenue.

Live Performances

Record income from concerts, festivals, and live shows. Track ticket sales, merchandise sold at shows, and performance fees. This helps you understand the profitability of touring.

Other Revenue Streams

Track sync licensing, publishing royalties, Patreon/Substack subscriptions, teaching income, and any other revenue sources. The system is flexible and can accommodate any income stream.

Understanding Your Revenue Data

Once set up, the Revenue Tracker provides:

  • Total Revenue - Combined income from all sources
  • Revenue by Source - See which streams generate the most income
  • Trends Over Time - Identify growth patterns and seasonal variations
  • Projections - Forecast future earnings based on current trends

Use this data to make informed decisions about where to focus your efforts and which revenue streams to prioritize.
