Introduction
Independent Artist Method ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to lawful, fair, and transparent collection of your data. This policy governs data collection when you purchase or use our products, services, software, and website, including the IAM platform (dashboard, video modules, software tools, platform connections, brand audit, referral program, checkout, email, and support) (collectively the "Services"). It describes the types of information we collect, how we use it, and how we share, store, and protect it.
If you do not agree with this policy, you should not use our Services. By accessing or using our Services, you agree to this policy, which may change from time to time. Your continued use after we make changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
Children and Age
Our Services are not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Use of our Services is limited to persons who are at least 13 years of age, or the age of majority in their state or province of residence, whichever is higher. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. By creating an account or completing a purchase, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide and information we obtain automatically, as described below.
Account and profile
When you create an account or complete your profile, we collect name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), profile photo, city, country, state, phone, bio, timezone, and similar identifiers. We also store your referral code (if any) and timestamps related to review incentives and referral program milestones (e.g., Refer 7).
Payment and billing
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers. We store subscription and payment metadata (e.g., billing email, payment history, upgrade and refund information) as needed to provide the Services and comply with legal obligations.
Platform connections
When you connect social or analytics accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube) through our Services, we receive and store tokens and data provided by those platforms (e.g., profile information, handles, analytics or insights) to power features such as the Artist Panel, Analytics, and related tools. This is done via OAuth or similar authorization flows. Each connected platform has its own privacy policy governing its collection and use of data.
Brand audit and onboarding
When you use the brand audit or onboarding flows, we may collect artist name, search results (e.g., from search providers we use), links you provide, extracted social handles, and the resulting brand audit and artist panel data.
Usage and technical
We collect logs, device and browser information, and IP address for security, abuse prevention, and operation of the Services. We also store course progress, section and video completion, support tickets, and bug reports when you use those features.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for: (1) essential operation (e.g., session, authentication, security); (2) analytics, if you consent; and (3) marketing, if you consent. You can manage your preferences via our cookie banner or Cookie Preferences link. Refusing non-essential cookies may limit some features. Unless you have adjusted your browser to refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you visit us.
This policy does not apply to third-party sites that link to or from our site. Your interactions with those sites are governed by their privacy statements.
Third-Party Services
We use third-party services to operate the Services. Data we share with them is governed by this policy and their respective privacy policies. These include: Stripe (payments), Resend (email), NextAuth and OAuth providers (e.g., Google, Apple for login), Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google (YouTube), X (Twitter), TikTok, Trustpilot (reviews), Google reCAPTCHA (form security and abuse prevention; see Google's privacy policy), AWS/CloudFront (media), Vercel (hosting), and our database provider (e.g., PostgreSQL). We may add or change providers; the types of data we share and the purposes (payment, email, auth, platform connections, hosting, storage) remain as described in this policy.

We use the information we collect to: present and operate the Services; process payments and manage subscriptions; provide the dashboard, tools, and platform connections; send transactional and (with your consent) marketing email; run the referral program and review incentives; improve the Services and security; and comply with legal obligations.
If you are in the European Economic Area or UK, we collect and use your personal data only where we have a legal basis under applicable law (e.g., your consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests, or legal obligation).
Who We Share Your Information With
We may disclose aggregated or de-identified information without restriction. We may disclose personal information to: our team, agents, subsidiaries, and affiliates; contractors and service providers (including the third-party services listed above); a buyer or successor in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of assets; to fulfill the purpose for which you provided it; as disclosed when you provide the information; with your consent; to comply with law or legal process; to enforce our terms and agreements; and to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our customers, or others.
Data Retention
We retain account and profile data while your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, or refund purposes. Platform connection data is retained until you disconnect or request deletion. Logs and security-related data are retained as needed for security and abuse prevention. Payment records are retained as required by law. When data is no longer needed for these purposes, we anonymize, delete, or isolate it as appropriate.
How We Protect Your Information
We may store your personal data in regions or countries where we or our service providers have facilities. We implement reasonable measures to protect your information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. No transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to our website. You provide information at your own risk.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have provided by contacting us at support@independentartistmethod.com. You may also withdraw consent (e.g., for cookies or marketing) using our Cookie Preferences or unsubscribe links in emails. We may not accommodate a request that would violate law or cause information to be incorrect. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
For information about deleting data related to connected platforms (e.g., Facebook/Instagram), see our Data Deletion page.
